Product Description

The MKL-5000 is a premium bottle-style tube, multi-pattern microphone. Featuring a large diaphragm, it's built for the studio and is an excellent addition to your recording arsenal - whether you're a professional engineer, or an enthusiast who's serious about your sound. With high SPL handling (even though the mic is extremely sensitive) and a low noise floor, it's ready for direct to digital recording, right out of the box.

Superior Sound

Featuring a discrete preamplifier circuit, this mic is characterised by a clear, reserved, warm sound that's sprinkled with a small amount of third harmonic distortion. It will capture your source in astounding levels of clarity. The high-quality performance doesn't stop there either. The tube is powered via an integrated class A power supply that was designed here in the UK.

Incredible Versatility

Thanks to an in-built switch on the mic's body, you can choose from omni-directional, cardioid, and figure-of-eight polar patterns. This makes the mic seriously versatile; no longer will you have to lug around a tonne of different microphones with you. You'll be able to suit whatever recording situation is thrown at you! If bought as a pair, you'll be able to harness AB or XY stereo scenarios too.

What's it good for?

The mic's versatility extends to the multitude of different sources that it's good at capturing. Grand pianos; vocals; percussion; guitars; all of these can be recorded to a pro-standard. This is in part due to a frequency response that ranges from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, which remains smooth across every single polar pattern.

Additional Extras

The mic comes with a shock-mount and rugged flight case. You'll be able to easily transport your gear with absolute peace of mind.
