M-Audio
M-Audio have become something of a household name in the world of musical equipment, with a product range that spans a number of categories including audio interfaces, MIDI controllers, monitors and much more!
The History of M-Audio
M-Audio was founded in 1988 under the name Midiman – this is fairly indicative of their focus at the time! MIDI was relatively new technology, and the industry saw brands racing each other to keep up with the new trend.
The company’s ethos was to bridge the gap between hardware and software as the world of digital music production grew in size. Combining computers and shiny new software with traditional audio production techniques was a challenge that was irresistible for the Midiman team!
Fast-forward to the year 2000, and they unveiled the M-Audio moniker for their latest range. This was the start of the company’s journey to widespread popularity and mainstream production; their MIDI and audio interfaces went from strength to strength. In 2002, they released the Oxygen keyboard series, which paved the way for compact and affordable MIDI controllers.
Being at the forefront of the digital music revolution meant that M-Audio were able to cement themselves as leaders in the industry; nowadays they offer one of the biggest product lines on the market.
