Leo Fender’s legacy lies in G&L, the Californian company where he said he made his best guitars. The Fullerton Deluxe ASAT Classic Bluesboy is a product of the famous Fullerton factory, where Leo’s private workshop still resides.
The Deluxe ASAT is a modded variation of a timeless design. You’ll get a legendary single-cutaway shape and setup with greater versatility in sound.
Construction
The guitar is made of a gorgeous Swamp Ash body, with a transparent gloss finish that climbs up the hard-rock Maple neck. It looks and feels fantastic. It has a beautiful, bright 9 ½” radius Maple fingerboard that’s extremely comfortable to fret. Embedded are 22 medium-jumbo nickel-silver frets of silky playability. They make for effortless leads.
A bolt-on neck design provides plenty of sustain for long, winding guitar passages. Have the peace of mind that your guitar remains stable throughout long practice sessions or live shows. This is a guitar built to withstand years of wear.
Electronics
In the bridge position you have G&L’s MFD single coil pickup providing a surprisingly sharp attack. Great for blues or even a modern sound. The modded feature of the Bluesboy is the alnico II neck humbucker, not usually found in G&L ASATs. This creates the unmistakeable warm characteristics associated with these pickups. It pairs nicely with the MFD and makes it an instrument capable of a huge array of tones.
Hardware
The ASAT Bluesboy is equipped with G&L’s classy brass saddles for tight intonation at all times. An ashtray bridge design can feel sharp on some production guitars, but here, they’ve mastered the craft. No cost-cutting in sight.
