Fender Custom Shop Danish Pete Inspired '52 Tele in Purple Metallic Heavy Relic with Large C Neck

We never thought this day would come, but it has. This is finally it - the ultimate Custom Shop Tele! Spec'd up by our very own Captain Anderton and Danish Pete, this gorgeous instruments features all of the design features and physical traits that would make a Tele purist fall in love. It's a '52 Tele, complete with the a slightly thinner C shape neck!

Inspired by Pete's Purple Custom

If you’ve watched our Andertons TV YouTube channel you’ll be familiar with our resident guitarist, Peter Honore's Purple Custom Shop Tele. Before we decided on or range of custom shops, we sent the serial number of his guitar to Fender so we could find out the exact specifications and base our these Teles on this great design.

Large C Neck

The large C shape neck still feels authentically vintage but is a little more manageable for those players who struggle with the typical "baseball bat" neck found on early Teles.

Its modern 9.5” radius still makes the Tele a breeze to play and the frets are narrow and tall allow for quick jumps across the fingerboard. It also means you’ll never struggle with those big bends, even if you prefer to use heavier strings.

Classic Tonewood Combination

A wise man once said: "A guitar is only as good as the wood it’s built from." We requested specifically chosen lightweight Ash for these guitars, the same as the very first solid-body electrics back in the '50s. They’ve also got single-piece, quartersawn Maple necks to ensure you get that classic Tele twang and spank.

To top it all off, you've got a Nitro Cellulose lacquer finish all over. Lee & Pete also toned down the relic process slightly, particularly with forearm wear - the perfect balance between iconic Fender design and used-and-abused!

Ultimate Tele Pickups

In the bridge position, the 51 Nocaster pickup delivers its hot, bright attack - the essence of everything that a Tele bridge pickup should be, and some.

The neck position's, Twisted Tele pickup provides you with a smooth, rounded tone, with a slightly accentuated attack thanks to the ash & maple tonewood combo. The Twisted Tele pickup is essentially a Strat neck pickup in Tele form, so expect a brilliant balance of punchiness, clarity and a bit of thump for good measure!
