EarthQuaker Devices
If you’ve heard of EarthQuaker Devices pedals before you’ll be aware that their pedals are notorious for being quite outrageous and ‘out there’ in terms of sound and approach. EarthQuaker pedals have been designed to inspire players, and whilst they do have some extreme sounding pedals (check out the Rainbow Machine) they have also got a plethora of standard drives, fuzzes, overdrives and delays.
About EarthQuaker Devices
The self-dubbed pedal wizards in Ohio seem to churn out inspiring pedals in spades. The EarthQuaker pedals are renowned for the artwork featured on the pedals and you won’t be surprised to see them on famous pedalboards all over the world. Famous EarthQuaker Devices users include the likes of Chon, Devin Townsend, Misha Mansoor (Periphery) and Rob Parr (The Dear Hunter).
The EQD philosophy is that pedals should be practical and user-friendly with loads of great sounds at every turn of a knob – but still be a launchpad for sonic exploration and aural innovation. None of their pedals are intimidating to use thanks to their simple layout and it’s easy to get a great sound out of their famous pedals like the Hoof fuzz, the Afterneath ambient reverb and the Bit Commander bit crushing pedal.
