Marshall Vintage Re-Issue Amps

Marshall has revived a number of its classic amp models through the Vintage Re-Issue line, ultimately to satisfy the cravings of nostalgia-loving tone hunters. Although the company always has an eye on the future, with their CODE series amplifiers featuring cutting-edge modelling technology, the company also doesn’t want to totally abandon its roots. 

The Vintage Re-Issue series features some of Marshall’s most notorious models, including the JCM800 and JCM900 amp heads. The JCM800 2203 established the notorious Marshall “crunch” when released back in the early 80s, and the Re-Issue edition gloriously maintains that distinctive sound, but with an effects loop added to meet the demands of modern players.

Although the Origin series draws heavily upon classic Marshall Plexis, the Vintage Re-Issue versions are much truer replications. Renowned for being ear-splittingly loud, the Vintage Re-Issue 1959SLP 100W head features its distinctive high and low guitar inputs, giving you anything from a vibrant, high-headroom clean to a bold and raunchy overdrive. The 1987X is similar, but with its 50W of power it offers a tighter and more articulate sound.

The Silver Jubilee is another notable model, easily identified by its classy light grey tolex. Similar to the JCM800, the Silver Jubilee has a darker sound and offers far more gain in comparison, with its particular tonal qualities making it a popular choice for metal players.
