Jim Dunlop Guitar Slides
Jim Dunlop Guitar Slides
Founded in 1965 by Jim Dunlop, the eponymous company has been a longstanding giant within the guitar community. Producing many different guitar accessories, including plectrums, capos, and pedals; their slides are used by many musicians.
Coming in glass, chrome or brass materials; these different options offer fairly specific sounds. Glass is known for having a warm tone that accentuates the mid-range harmonics for a richer quality. Metals, on the other hand, sound far brighter and generally enhance sustain. This is why they’re preferred for lead guitar work.
Jim Dunlops slides are also available is different lengths. While long slides cover the whole finger, shorter slides are placed on the end of your finger so that you can still bend the knuckle. Shorter guitar slides therefore allow you to play more precisely as you can isolate single strings.
