First brought to market in 2011, the Premium Series was created to sit just underneath it’s Ibanez cousin – the Prestige line. The majority of the range is reasonably priced at just over £1000, which is a worthy investment when you see what you get for the cost. Crafted in Indonesia (as opposed to Japan) under intense scrutiny, the brilliant hardware and pickups featured here stand up to the test. DiMarzio and Seymour Duncan pickups, Gotoh hardware and 5-piece laminated necks are the standout design aspects of selected models.

Development of a more ‘premium fret edge treatment’ thanks to the use of semi-hemispherical fret ends has resulted in the elimination of unwanted, sharp frets. This means you can effortlessly move across the fingerboard without snagging – a big bugbear for many guitarists!
