Ibanez AR Series Guitars
Ibanez AR Series Guitars
Ibanez began producing the AR Series (Artist Series) in the '70s; as their first original design, it represents a significant milestone in their story. For this reason, it's still an extremely popular model, though many people nowadays associate Ibanez with their slick, precision-orientated guitars such as the iconic RG.
The Artist Series can be identified by it's subtle double-cut design, understated headstock and classic-style hardware and electronics. The AR has been through numerous forms over the years, including semi-hollow and Prestige models. Production was halted in the late '80s and at several points during the '90s due to the increased popularity of their aforementioned S-type guitars. It's now enjoying a prolonged period of production thanks to its borderline-cult status in the guitar world!
It's most often found with a mahogany body, maple neck, ebony fretboard and Ibanez Super pickups. Combined with a surprisingly versatile set of switching and control options, the AR is deceptively versatile. A truly great all-rounder with a diverse tonal palette, the AR has earned its place among the Ibanez elite!
