Gretsch Jet Guitars

From George Harrison to Malcolm Young, the Gretsch Jet has left its mark on the history of rock 'n' roll. First introduced in 1953, Jets have taken many forms but that straight-forward rock 'n' roll philosophy has remained constant. Jets are traditionally single-cuts, but are also available with a symmetrical double-cutaway body for greater upper-fret access. Whether its a single or double-cutaway, Jets usually have chambered mahogany bodies for added resonance and midrange punch.

Another variable is the pickups. The more vintage-correct models feature dual single-coils, but most Jets either have Filter'Tron or Broad'Tron pickups. Filter'Trons are the pickup most associated with Gretsch, offering a more articulate tone that a regular humbucker without sacrificing the warmth and hum-cancelling you expect from a humbucker. Broad'Trons are a more traditional humbucker, less note definition but a more powerful tone that's great for aggressively overdriven styles. Whichever model you go with you're sure to get the look and tonal quality Gretsch are known for.
