G&L ASAT Guitars

G&L ASAT guitars adhere to the timeless T-style body shape, but they're not blatant Telecaster copies. While created by Leo Fender (the man who invented the Tele back in the early '50s), G&L's ASAT models are refined with some of the iconic inventor's last technological breakthroughs. These refinements make these electric guitars exceptionally versatile for contemporary and traditional guitarists alike.

G&L ASAT Pickups

Both G&L's US-crafted Fullerton Deluxe and affordable Tribute Series ASAT Classic guitars come fitted with their proprietary MFD (Magnetic Field Design) pickups. These sophisticated single-coils utilise ceramic magnets and adjustable iron pole pieces, which yield ultra-clear and articulate sounds. The G&L ASAT Classic Bluesboy model features an Alnico II neck humbucker that provides a warmer rhythm sound, while the ASAT Special (considered by many as the quintessential G&L guitar) comes installed with "Jumbo" versions of the company's standard MFD single-coils — delivering a fatter tone.

G&L ASAT Hardware

Most G&L ASAT guitars are fitted with boxed-style bridges that aren't much of a departure from the traditional T-type design. However, with six individual saddles instead of the vintage-style two-string barrel saddles, you can therefore intonate each string and set their action much more precisely.

G&L ASAT Special guitars, on the other hand, come equipped with the Leo Fender-designed 'Saddle-Lock' bridge. Featuring a neatly-engineered locking mechanism that prevents the string saddles from moving, this ensures that all the strings have an equal distance for consistent playability, while enhancing their vibrations for greater sustain and resonance.
