Product Description

PLEASE NOTE: this limited-edition product is now sold out! Shop more ThorpyFX gear right here!

The ThorpyFX Six Zero is an all-analogue Fuzz & tremolo pedal, designed and hand-built in the UK by Adrian Thorpe MBE and renowned pedal wizard Dan Coggins to celebrate 60 years of Andertons Music Co!

This unique piece of stompbox history started off as a simple question: how could you reimagine a guitar effect from six decades ago to suit the players & tone tinkerers of today? The resulting sounds range from white-hot sustain to shuddering psychedelic soundscapes, with a near-infinite number of sweet spots in between.

Not in the United Kingdom? We are shipping this pedal worldwide as the ThorpyFX Six Zero is extremely limited to 200 units. You can view our shipping FAQ here.

Key features

  • Vintage Fuzz Meets Pure Analogue Tremolo – a silicon take on the MKI ‘Bender’ fuzz sound collides with a Pink Floyd-inspired trem with spectacular results.
  • Andertons Music Co. 60th Anniversary Limited Run – The Six Zero is strictly limited to a run of 200, with each unit hand-signed by Lee Anderton & Adrian Thorpe.
  • Unique & Rugged Design – Just like the rest of the ThorpyFX line-up, the Six Zero’s all-metal enclosure is built like a tank. It even shows the co-ordinates of our Guildford store!

Silicon Fuzz For Days

Sometimes, less is more. In the case of the Six Zero’s fuzz circuit, it’s WAY more. ThorpyFX set out to bring the idea of a silicon version of the MKI ‘Bender’ fuzz circuit to life with the simplest possible controls. They settled on the simple combination of ‘Level’ and ‘Attack’, letting you seamlessly move between the choppy, crushed sound of gated fuzz to the intense saturation and sustain that’s turned heads for 60 years and counting.

Coggins-designed Tremolo

While the fuzz oozes tonal character and rich resonance, the tremolo injects movement, variety, and some dialled-up vintage character. The trem is based on a design from renowned pedal guru and ThorpyFX collaborator Dan Coggins, originally dreamt up on his 14th birthday (!) while listening to Pink Floyd’s ‘Money’. You know the sound. Sticking to the theme of simple controls – Depth and Rate – Coggins’ tremolo circuit works wonders, whether in perfect harmony with the fuzz or in wobbly isolation.

‘A’ Marks The Spot

The Six Zero is part of a UK-built limited run of just 200 units, each one hand-signed by Lee Anderton and Adrian Thorpe, to celebrate 60 years of Andertons Music Co. In typical ThorpyFX fashion, it looks tough enough to survive re-entering the atmosphere, but look closer and you’ll notice some neat design quirks. Nestled in between the controls you’ll find a topographical map of Guildford, a set of co-ordinates, and the Andertons ‘A’ to mark the whereabouts of our store – where we’ve been making musicians since 1964.

A word from Adrian Thorpe MBE:

“The Six Zero is a modern pedal that has its sonic roots in the past and its delivery in the present, a perfect metaphor for the 60 years Andertons has been serving and delivering tone to generations of musicians.”

Controls

  • Depth – How much tremolo would you like with the dry signal?
  • Rate – Dial in anything from a gentle slow wave to faster psychedelic waveforms of shimmery tremolo.
  • Attack – Find your sweet spot with just the right amount of sustain, clarity, and harmonic content.
  • Level – How loud do you want it?
  • Left Footswitch – Turns the tremolo on or off.
  • Right Footswitch – Turns the fuzz on or off.
