Jackson Guitars

Jackson Guitars

They have been popular with some of the biggest names in the heavy music world, including Marty Friedman (Megadeth), Phil Demmel (Machinehead) and Misha Mansoor (Periphery).

With many of their guitars featuring high-output pickups, locking tremolo systems and thin neck-carves, they cater for the musician seeking an instrument with performance and looks in mind.

History of Jackson

Founded by Grover Jackson, who had acquired Charvel in 1978, Jackson guitars’ history started with the Randy Rhoads V model. Worried that the design was too diverse and a departure from his superstrat models, Jackson decided to adorn the headstock with his name, thus starting his own brand. This design has since become a staple in the Jackson range, inspiring him to create a number of new and original designs such as the King V, Kelly, Warrior, Soloist and Dinky models.

With many heavy metal artists using his guitars through the 80s and 90s, most notably Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine, Marty Friedman and Dave Ellefson (the last two of whom are still endorsees), his company became big players in the guitar market.

Jackson was acquired by Fender in the early 2000s, and with the takeover the company have only gotten stronger with their expertise. Expanding their catalogue, Jackson have multiple ranges and a raft of signature models available, with every price-point covered.

Series

Their electric guitar and bass lines start with the entry-level JS series, instruments that punch well above what their prices suggest. Their X and Pro guitars are spec’d out shred machines, well within reach for modest budgets and carrying the Jackson feel and tone. With high-quality hardware, including Seymour Duncan and EMG pickups, as well as neck-thru options, these guitars will serve intermediate players and pros alike.

The USA models are pure-bred metal machines, built to survive the rigours of the road and offer superior tone and playability. With premium hardware and components, not to mention exceptional build quality, the top-level craftsmanship is evident with these models. Made by some of the best luthiers in the industry, these guitars will last a lifetime.
